Colorado Reg. Change

I just noticed recently that to hunt BOBcat in Colorado you can use just a Small Game Lic. It is listed under the section of the New for 06/07. Before for bobcat you had to have afurbearer lic. So after this year no more 40 furbearer tag for me.

That is a nice change. Thought I would let all CO hunters know.
 
I saw that too, but I figured it meant "in addition to" a furbearers tag. I'm going to call CODOW to make sure.
 
3. NEWFOR 2006: To hunt bobcat, red foxes, raccoons, coyotes and striped skunks, you can have either a furbearer or small game license.

It says either one will work. Of course I already have mine for this year, but come Jan. 1 I am all small game only.
 
YES!!! I wonder if all those letters the guys at the gun club and I wrote had anything to do with the change...Dumbest thing...The FurBearers tag was approved and developed for trappers...then they just decided lets get the hunters to buy one in addition to the Small Game tag...They had the same thing with the bear tags...if you wanted to hunt bear during big game rifle seasons, you also had to carry an elk or deer tag...don't know if they changed that one yet....

Thanks for bringing this to our attention...This is back to the way it should be...or at least closer.....
