I have been very happy with this AR. I was a little hesitant before I ordered it with it having a 9 twist barrel and no M4 ramps but it has never skipped a beat. The Timmney 3 lb. trigger was a big improvement. I wish there were more woodchucks around here these days, I have bought a FoxPro and can not wait to get my first coyote.

Hello all,
Maybe one of the AR Guru's will chime in. Does any one know if the stainless barrel on the colt cr6720 is made by colt or who may manufacture these barrels.
Thanks Robert

Hmm.. Looks like you have a great shooting AR there OP.

The best shooting firearm I own is a similar Colt AR-15. Mine is a 6721 with a 16" chrome lined 1/9 Hbar barrel. With quality ammo, including that 53 grain Superformance, it will hold .5 MOA out to 300 yards.
I don't consider myself lucky to find a good shooting Colt AR, and liked the performance of that 6721 so much, that I bought a NIB 6721 to have around just in case.

No, it's not really stock, but it is all Colt with the exception of the free float tube, trigger, and gas block. I assembled it using a Colt 6721 lower receiver, and a Colt M-4 marked upper receiver. I fit the lower with a 3# Timney trigger. I used a Colt 16" 1-9 Hbar barrel from a Colt Match Target Competition AR-15 a friend rebarreled with a 1" bull barrel. I used a Colt M-16 bolt carrier assembly. When I had my gunsmith thread the barrel for a flash suppressor, he checked the mounted barrel for runout to see if we needed to square the upper receiver. No need. My ammo is hand loaded 55 grain Sierra Game King HP's over 25.6 grains of Varget.

Very nice setup, What scope and mount is that. I'm getting back into the roll your own game and will be using the load you have listed here. Now I need to quit hunting from the chair here and get in the field. I did sit in a fence row a couple of weeks ago for a while but it was so windy I could hardly hear my wildfire playing. Thanks for the reply

Safari.. The scope mounted in the picture is a Burris Fullfield II 3-9X 40MM in a no name one piece mount.
I hadn't used a 5.56 AR for coyotes for several years but was given a couple boxes of Hornady 53 grain Superformance ammo. After seeing how accurate it was from this AR, I wanted to see how it would perform on coyotes. I took this one at about 80 yards. The first shot knocked him down, then he raised up and howled. The second shot finished him off. Neither round exited the mid 40 pound male. I am very impressed with this Hornady Superformance ammo out of this AR.
After knocking off this coyote, I decided to give the ole Colt an optics and mount upgrade. I picked up a new Leupold VX III 3.5-10X 40MM scope with a B&C reticle, and mounted it in a Larue QR mount. I spent this past weekend getting it all zeroed back in.
