Companies Abandoning the NRA

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/companies-cutting-ties-nra-220220623.html

Here's a list i found company's who are bowing to political pressure to boycot the NRA. This is being pushed by the folks over at ThinkProgress. You can bet the twitter and email bots are running full steam ahead to drive this and have been for days now.

i suggest if you're a patron of any of them, contact their corporate offices and let them know how you'll be voting with your wallet.

I have already called enterprise and lodged a complaint as a Enterprise Plus Silver member who rents >10 times a year.

i have contacted hertz and avis on social media informing them that i will not be giving them my business that i would normally given to enterprise and am shopping for a source who's staying out of the fray.

Scheels, an Upper Midwest sporting goods retailer, has a house Visa card operated by FNB Omaha. The same bank that is dropping the NRA.

I have expressed my opinion to the retailer that they should seek out a new bank for their visa card.

Once I clear out my "bonus" points, I will be canceling that card.

Scheels is business that supports many local youth and adult sport organizations. So they will continue to see me in the store. Just not using their Visa card.

dan bongino canceled one of his sponsorships today because they joined the NRA boycott. he didnt say which, but i suspect it was simplysafe. he didnt mention them by name but said he had canceled one of them earlier this morning.

i dont konw if any other hosts have followed suit, but i suspect now that a trend is starting simplysafe and lifelock are going to feel a bit of a sting if a few more folks get on board and refuse to advertise for them.

Well I am insured with vehicles, boat, rv and house thru Metlife. I instructed my agent to find me another company pronto and to make sure they know why i'm cancelling.

I don't do business with any of them except for Enterprise where I once rented a car from them for a day. But I'll think twice before I do that again if they are anti NRA and anti gun. To heck with them. They will lose money for this and I hope their board of directors fires the CEO when they lose money big time.

This is awesome to see/hear. Obviously the part of folks getting educated about who's on the naughty list and pushing back. I too will be doing my part & bringing up these companies with everyone I know. Let our collective voices be heard. Being/having a patriotic angle to your business used to be a plus (in my eyes still is). Those who choose to go the other route, let 'em feel it...

I've been a life member since 92/93 and an annual one before that.

I've never used any of these discounts. mostly i just don't even think of them being available. but when a company jumps into the fray like this I can be sure that when ever possible I'll go out of my way to not darken their door with my business.

Well i paid up my Bank of Omaha NRA credit card and sent a letter explaining why i no longer will require their services. Doubt if I'll get any answer, but that's ok.

Paid up my NRA Bank of Omaha yesterday by phone. There was an option to press to cancel the account, which I did, something I never heard before from them or any other card, so they must be getting a lot of cancellations to put that option there. Its got to hurt them if even 10% of members had a card and cancels it. I had my card since 1992, they never made much interest from me,but I did use it quite a bit.

Well i didn't just talk about closing my account with First National Bank of Omaha, i did send them a letter and i got a response today 3/26 in the mail from a Martha Jankoski, Office of the President, it goes like this:
I am writing to follow up on your letter we received March 13, 2018 regarding our partnership with the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Customer feedback has caused us to review our relationship with the NRA. As a result, First National Bank of Omaha will not renew its contract with the National Rifle Association to issue the NRA Visa Card.

This is also to confirm that your credit card account was closed on March 23, 2018, per your request.

she signed it Sincerely,

Didn't think i'd even get a response.
Next up Wal-Mart.....will write them letting them know i no longer can do business with them in any capacity.

Here is the letter I sent to Wal-Mart, just got a standard response that they received it and would send it to the appropriate people. Whatever, but it's what I expected. -
Because of your public relations grandstanding after the domestic terrorist shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, I have been reminded how lazy I had become in my shopping habits. Your move to randomly choose at what age you will or won't sell firearms to law abiding citizens violates United States Constitutional law and alienates a large portion of your loyal customer base. Prior to your decision, my family had done almost all of our shopping at Wal-Mart, largely out of convenience. Since you decided to "make a statement" by limiting lawful gun sales, my family also decided to "make a statement" and immediately stopped shopping at Wal-Mart. Instead we are now shopping at other chain stores, local businesses and buying online from Amazon, something we almost never did prior to your announcement. We have been pleasantly surprised at the deals and money savings we have found away from Wal-Mart so it's been a win-win for my family. While you may see the loss of my family's dollars as unnoticeable, and therefore largely symbolic, let me assure you we have been happily telling others of our new shopping experiences, both in person and in online forums. It is my sincere hope that you realize the error you have made, make a very public apology to those you have alienated and return your policies to a pro 2nd Amendment stance. Barring that, we will no longer shop at Wal-Mart and we will continue to extol the virtues of other merchants at every opportunity. Your competitors thank you for our business.

Jim, very classy. Not only told them to go to he77, but after that fine use of the King's English they are probably looking forward to the trip. I to shall quit Walmart in every aspect that I can.
