and I had a question for the folks that carry the SA 1911 style 45 ACP's like the Kimbers and Colts.

Do you carry them loaded, cocked, and locked?

cocked and locked

Do you absolutely and totally 100% trust them cocked and locked with a round in the chamber?

been carrying one for over 20yrs never had an issue even when I dropped it

The same as others cocked locked and ready to rock. Never any issues with it Carryed this way. Been doing it for 19 years with no issues.

That is how it was designed and that is how I trust them. I don't carry a 1911 concealed, but carry one often in the woods in a strong side Simply Rugged holster and I carry it in condition one.

Cocked and locked. Some situations dont allow time to rack the slide.

I read a article years ago were a officer got into a scuffle with a perp. The hammer on his 1911 got bent from a direct impact, it didnt go off.

One of the reasons I went away from an exposed hammer gun,
for personal protection. Love my 1911, I don't carry it much
any more, but if I carry it, it is in the woods, and it is in a
tactical thigh holster. In town, I carry a Glock 27, and in
the country, I mostly carry a Glock 20.

I see no difference in a 1911 with a hammer cocked or a glock, karh, XD whatever. All sit in the holster with hammer back (it's just you can't see it). If you feel safe with one; you should the other...

I have a Colt Mustang Pocketlite that I carry a lot. I always have a round in the pipe, but I usually carry it with the hammer at the half-cock position. It's not that I don't trust it to carry it cocked and locked, I just prefer it the other way. Pulling it and thumbing the hammer back is second nature to me. It's just a preference.
