Ok, I tried Vegan and I liked it!
I didn’t have anything on my work list today seeing how a bunch of my orders got cancelled. So I drove over to another town to help my ex coworker who took another title.
His job was at a Vegan restaurant that was to open soon. The owner showed up as we were finishing up and was in the back cooking. He came out from the kitchen area and asked if we liked Philly Cheese Steak. We of course said YEAH and he said will y’all try this. It was just half of a sub roll cut in half so not big at all, but enough to get a few good bites in and get the flavor.
To be honest, you couldn’t tell it was vegan, bread included. He doesn’t use lab or fake meat. The “meat” itself was actually Lions Mane mushrooms. I don’t remember what he said about the cheese that he made, but all in all it was dang good!!
I did tell him there was only one thing that would keep me from becoming a vegan and he laughed and asked “Bacon”? I said you are correct!! He agreed it’s impossible to make a plant taste like bacon and he might or might not have bacon himself from time to time, lol.
Anyway, I now feel better that I got if off my chest. Just hoping I don’t get banned for this and using a BOG!!
