Considering a Glock 19.

Probably the most popular 9MM out there, pretty sure most own or have owned one, I haven't been without one in the last several years, My Son just got his CCW and that's what he carries.

Got a Glock 22 about a year before I started my LE career, and carried that same 22 for 18 years. If things have not changed, and you have a 40 already, why not look at a 23? Then your only getting one caliber of ammo. Just an Idea. I have a 22 and a 27, but think the 23 is a perfect gun..... If I knew then what I know now, I would have went that route.... good luck on your choice

My buddy has numerous Springfield Armory handguns, XD's, XDM's..I have some myself. He picked up a Glock 19 and can't stop talking about it. It's annoying...now I'm going to have to go look at one...never thought I'd even consider a Glock...sheesh, what's become of my life?

He carries it in the Phantom holster, he's worse that a midnight infomercial about that combo.

I have 4 Glocks, 17,19,23 and 27. I am a senior citzen, 5ft 9 and 165 lbs. I like the 19 the best but seldom carry it. Why? I seldom carry the 17, 19 or 23 because their magazines are so long. I generally wear jeans and I cannot find a comfortable way to carry the magazines. On my belt they always dig into my side. In my front pocket, they dig into my leg when I am sitting. I can over come the problem by using a shoulder holster, but winter is the only time I dress right for that.
The Glock 27 doesn't hold as much ammo, but I can carry extra magazines on my belt or in my front pocket without discomfort. And, the 27 is a 40 cal which makes up a little for carrying fewer rounds. The model 17 makes a fine range gun but it is just too big for me to conceal with comfort. I carry to be as safe as possible while leading a normal life and I am not preparing for war. In court, I would probably have a hard time justifying emptying the mag on the 27 into someone. For those rare times that I might be trapped in the middle of no where and police are far off, the 12 gauge under the back seat will do nicely.

Personally I won't carry anything without a manual safety. I am also not real concerned about a large number of rounds. If I can't get it done with 10, a few more is not likely to make any difference.

Having a manual safety may make you feel better but it is certainly not necessary in a modern defensive handgun as long as you are well trained enough to keep your finger off the trigger! Regarding not being able to "get it done in ten", turn on the evening news. The times, they are a changing!

Well, went to the local gun shop and fondled a few pistols. The Glock, CZ PO7, M&P, SigP320, VP9. I can tell this is gonna take several visits. As far as just being comfortable in my hand, I have to give the edge to the P320, M&P, CZ PO7. And in that order. The Glock was prob least comfortable. The trigger on the M&P was a little rough but gun felt good. The CZ trigger was OK. . So, have to make another visit. Lol.
