I have a 14" Scoped Barrel in .223 for my Contender. Can anyone else that totes one of these point me in the right direction for a Holster, or other means of carry? Thanks..
Contender Holster. Any recomendations?

I've been hunting with Contenders for quite some time and tried all kinds of holsters. I use different ones depending on how I'm hunting and what time of year it is The Uncle Mikes flap holster for scoped Contenders is kinda bulky but really does a good job of protecting your gun from the elements snow rain or mud when I slide down the mountain, but kinda slow if your gun is holstered.
I do alot of still hunting after opening day of deer season and I prefer a sling or this type of holster or sometimes I just carry it
it is much easier to get your gun into position for a shot then unsnapping a flap and digging your gun out plus drawing a 14" Contender from a hip or waist holster or sling is IMO easier then from a shoulder type holster.

thanks for the responses thus far. Im just wanting it for carrying it from stand to stand, Im not going to be using it in a situation that Id need to pull it out of the holster fast, at least not now. Im gonna take TA up on his offer for the Uncle Mike.. I think it will do the job.

I always used the Uncle Mikes cross draw shoulder holster with the flap. You can anchor the barrel end to a belt as well.
