Converting a2 buttstock to mapul?

i bought a magpul stock to switch out the a2 buttstock on my remington r15. Got it home and started switching it out only to realize the tube isnt the rt length or diameter. Can i buy just the tube, and what if any special tools do i need?
 
You will need a buffer tube,buffer,and spring joeboboutfitters has a good deal on the whole kit. And you need to know if it is a commercial or milspec.
 
As far as tools, it can be accomplished with a few tools found in most everyone's garage, but the nut that holds the buffer tube in place is exposed with use of an adjustable stock, so an Armorer's Wrench to fit the spanner nut on the buffer tube would be cool.

Be advised there are small parts and springs that go flying on disassembly, if instructions on the stock don't tell you that and you haven't launched them yet.
 
I bought the milspec. yes, already found the spring once the stock is removed ! Ill give joebobs a call tomorrow! Thanks for the replies.
