Custom Call Maker
..a bit to much lol. Sort of getting the hang of the laser thing. This one is my personal jack distress call I decided to experiment on....lasered it way to hot but at least I can read it lol.
Shout out to Chris Whittaker of Southern Coyote Custom Game Calls for steering me in the right direction.
This thing will get better eventually.

Just came back to this thread... Never thought to post this, when the daughter was running her's. She did the same which I did recover some of her "too much".
I used a ultra fine sand paper (600 - 2000 grit) on her medium (scrap wood, varied from balsa to actual Black Walnut), dawn dishwashing soap and water, wet sanded then hit the graphic area with a toothbrush and wet sanded a bit again. Wiped it down with a damp cloth then applied a light protective coating ( my case was the imitation Tung oil, of course I let the wood dry).
here is what you will find and I suspect you already know. Each species of wood will require a different setting. And each differing type of material will do so as well. Yes I know a "Captain Obvious" statement. But looking at your results I think You are VERY close to where you want to be, If not there by the time I post this. My advice is keep going and make notes.

Mike your right on. Im a tinker-er at heart. Ill expend a lot of time and material to figure things out..for whatever endeavor Im interested in at the moment. Ive lasered probly 10 or 12 different woods and plastic..also some horn...which makes me almost puke....and yes they all react differently. I intentionally left it at 80 percent power and did a bunch of testing on different materials and with a bit of cleanup with fine paper and then finishing they are all pretty decent looking.
