Coolers?

Anybody have a 6 day coleman? Pros - Cons? Im looking for a good cooler for bow season, tired of the ice being gone after 1 80 degree day!

Igloo marine coolers work good in my climate, probably better in yours. Kinda spendy but like a lot of things, you get what you pay for.

I agree on the Igloo Marine. Works great for me.It has held ice for 3 days easy. Just drain the water off each morning. Block ice seems to last longer.

I have one of the smaller yetti coolers and have been fairly happy with it. I will say that mine is a little on the small side and doesn't hold enough ice to keep it cold for more than a couple days of 85+/- degree weather if it sits in the back of my truck in the sun.

I bought a huge one at Costco awhile back for about 100 bucks. It will keep ice for a week or more. Like one other said just drain the water off. Another way it get some dry ice and put on the bottom and a piece of plywood or something of that nature over it and then ice. As the ice melts it affects the dry ice and its all good after that.
Just my thoughts

I have some of the Igloo marine coolers. IMHO they are the best out there. I use to always go out to the sand dunes and stay for a week at a time in 95-100 weather. One thing that helps is to pre-cool the cooler with ice a few days ahead of time, make sure your food is cold and if its extremly hot dry ice is your best friend. And of course keep it in the shade as much as you can and drain off the water.

Along with all of the above it is best to use at least 2 coolers. One that is set up for all of the things that you use during the day and another for the occasional use. The opening and closing of the cooler will cause the ice to melt faster. We use a small cooler for the drinks that will be consumed for the day. The other larger cooler is only opened when it has to be. Switch items from the occasional use cooler to the day use cooler early in the morning when temps are the coolest.

i hav both igloo&coleman coolers.....the 5 or 6 day(silver) model works very well. hav used'em on lake powell, the rim and in the deserts....in addition to the other methods of keep'n ice solid....buy a white water heater wrap($15) & drap it over and under chests...especially on boat decks and hot sands.
