Nice pictures, I had a Mtn. Cur that I squirrel hunted with for several years, got him in TN. January is when I do most of my squirrel hunting now since I got rid of my dog. I have a friend that has a few dogs and we get together now and hunt.

I always loved squirrel hunting when I was a kid, but then about 10 years ago I started coon hunting and met a guy and started hunting with him and he had squirrel dogs and I absolutely fell in love with them and about the same time I had a little dog come to the house that was just a little mixed up thing. I tried hard to find her rightful owner but couldn't find them so she just hung around and low and behold her absolute favorite thing to do was tree squirrels. Well I guess you heard the search for her home was over. I had her about 8 years and treed a ton of squirrels with her. I just lost her to cancer here last spring. She is terribly missed not only was she an outstanding squirrel dog she was the family pet. That is when I got these two Mtn. Feist from a friend of mine. The one in the pic is the female, I also have a male that looks just like her but isn't progressing like her so I'm just hunting her. They treed there first wild squirrel at 4 1/2 months old. She is now 8 1/2 months old and treeing squirrel like a 4 year old. She is the most natural tree dog I have ever started. On top of that she's a pretty little thing. Sorry for the long post. Good hunting.

I have some awesome pics of the two feist pups treed at 5 months old if I can find them in my puter I'll post them.

Jaspa, no worries, pictures of hounds are always welcome here. They're fine looking dogs.

I have to say, seeing a good treeing dog tugs at my heart. It's been many moons since I was out chasing coons at night or hunting squirrels with a dog. I had a blue healer-chihuahua cross that was an absolute squirrel hunting nut. I just loved sneaking through the woods shooting squirrels that were barking at her.

Keep the posts and photo's coming. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

These last 3 pics are from Sat. morn. hunt. Treed 14 and killed 5. These squirrels are so wild this year, you get 50 yards from the tree and there bailing out and heading for the den. Oh well still having a blast. Thanks for looking. Good hunting. Jamie

Great pictures Jaspa. Now I'm getting hungry for squirrel.

When me and the misses were first married, we lived on squirrel and watermelon (us southern boys love watermelon). I worked at night and upon arriving home at the crack of dawn, grabbed the .22 and went squirrel hunting for a couple of hours. Came home cleaned the squirrels then went to bed. My lovely new bride would have them fried up upon my awakening. We were dirt poor but boy do I look back at those times with fondness! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Mike ifin' your ever in PA look me up as I would be more than happy to take ya huntin'. It makes you appreciate what you have when you remember where and what you came from, always remember where you came from. P.S. you can tell by looking at me that I haven't missed too many messes of fried squirrel covered in gravy with a side of biscuts LOL! Thanks Jamie.

Great looking fiest, they are wonderful dogs. I have a 6 yr old and he is probably the best dog I have ever had. He trees squirrels like he's mad at em.
