does anybody know what reeds make the best coon squaller and squirrel call sounds? im looking for something along the lines of a jc closed reeds and how to tune them to sound like the above mentioned

That's secret information held in a special vault in the HOB "Workshop"!

Actually, if you go to JC Products webpage, they have some of that information available. Many use a bladed LV003 brass reed, a LV025 and LV002 in combination, or a LVDR025(double reed). Most use either a medium length 2-3", 1/2" or 5/8" bore. Tuning to a raspy, busy sound is the ticket.

Different woods and reed holders will also affect the sound.
You can find small quantities of reeds at AllPredatorCalls website, they are a sponsor here at PM!

I have gotten the best response out of the lv3 brass reeds for coon squalls. I have done squirrels in the past but dont recall what reeds were used.
