Here are a couple pics from that past couple weeks. The first is of a good tom we took and the second is of a big female we caught and released the following day. Hope everyones winter is going good.

Nice pics, almost forgot what snow looks like, have'nt seen but a couple skiffs this yr over here on the border. Every other week we are trapped in a high pressure inversion that just hangs around for weeks at time. Thinking of trading my RMK in for a jackass. Farmers going to have a rough summer over here in the treasure valley this next summer without no water.

Awesome photos, thanks for posting. Care to share any tips with a rookie lion chaser. I'm a rookie in the sense that I have never chased lions with my hounds. Going out tomorrow and next weekend. Is that you on the Prohound selling some three month old Plotts? Talk to you later. Fred

Yup thats me. I have some little guys ready for some new homes. I would like to get rid of them out of the area somewhere, so if you know anyone. (don't want to compete with my own stuff around here!)
I don't know what it is like up there where you are hunting but just keep giving it hell. If you are checking canyons in a row make sure if you cut something in one canyon check the next if it is in reasonable distant, cats travel and nothing is more frustrating than turning loose and going to the next canyon (or 3 or 4) and find the cat crossing. If you are looking for a good one to harvest nothing tells better than the stride. Always measure the stride! Here is a little chart I go buy in the field!
JUST Averages
sm female 32-35
ave female 35-37
big female 37-40
small tom 35-37
ave tom 37-41
good tom 41-44
HOG ON! SHOOT! 44-up
Always look at toes but stride usually never fails. Big toms have really round toes as females are oval. Good luck and if you ever want to travel I have some extra space in the dog box!

MYK,

You're sure having a good season on the cats, and getting some good photos. The one of the female is OUTSTANDING!
