cougars in Indiana

I was just wondering, Has there ever been a confirmed sighting in Indiana. My mom drives a semi at night and she swears that she saw one run in front of her near Crawford county. I think it's possible but not likely. I read in the paper that one was found dead in Illinois; And one killed a horse in Michigan. I'm not sure about Kentucky but I think there could be some running around somewhere down there.
 
It is kind of like the fence between the US and Canada.

You know, the one that is a 3-wire fence with one wire broken. The standing joke is what stops the Arctic blasts from coming south. And the answer is NOT MUCH!!

Well, what stops a cougar where going anywhere it wants to where there is food a plenty and no (cat) competition???

NOT MUCH!

I believe that the question of if cougars are present in this or that area is more a question of WHEN!
