Greetings!!
Has anyone out their heard of or had any experiance with a Silver dog cow horn howler? Ran into it on a link, the price is right and would like to know if they are any good. Going by their picture, they seam to be well made, but looks can be deceving.

Thanks in advance. Emilio.. Pico Rivera, Ca.

I have never heard that paticular howler but I have heard the Cronk Cow Horn Howler and its excellent, I just ordered myself one. Check out his sight at the address under his reply above, you wont be disappointed.

A buddy of mine has one. It sounds good. High pitched howler and loud. Made by an ADC or ex ADC man is what I've heard. That same buddy also has a Cronk howler. He gives the nod to the Cronk. They both sound really good. You can get high to low pitch on the Cronk and it will wake the dead if you want it to.

The howler that you mention is a good howler, I bought one from a man in Oregon many many years ago and tho it was a very good howler it had one thing about it that I did not like to well.
The howler produced a nice deep mellow sound but this is not what I was after, I have found, over the years, that a "highier" pitch howl would work better. The reason being if a young coyote 1-2 years of age should here a "big deep howl" he may not want to get his butt kicked, so he may not respone to the call.

Just a thought to keep in mine.

Coyote control,
Oregon huh? Sounds like an original "Herbs" howler to me. He used the voice out of either an OLT or a Lohman duck call in those howlers.
