Coydog with pics

I have a friend whos Heeler got knocked up by a coyote, every one of the pups came out jet black. One of which is long haired. Also out in a valley I hunt there are a few coy dogs running around that are jet black too. Kind of neat to see you got one, def a coy dog.

That's a pretty cool one to get in on a double, almost like waterfowl hunting and shooting two species in one flock, or a hybrid mixed in.

I called in a feral dog earlier this year and I wonder if he had the chance to breed with the local coyotes before he went to the big dog house in the sky. He was pretty skinny, like he had been out there for some time and was injured, like he had been in a tangle or two. Either way, he was not friendly and I really wanted to do "less-than nice" things to the scumbag who dumped their dog out in the desert.

Do you think this is how a lot of coydogs come about, people dumping unwanted pets in the wild?

That is one unique dog for sure. Almost too bad it happened at night. I bet it would have been cool to see that white strip between his ears and that long muzzle in the daylight running at you. I bet he was a killin' machine. Congrats on a rare trophy indeed!

I’m sure I would have hesitated a bit had I seen him during the day, at night in the thermal all his actions and movements looked 100% coyote just his size stood out.

I would of thought that they would wanted a DNA test to confirm this. DNA is the only way to be 100% sure if its a cross or just screwed up yote genes.

Nice dog Phil... Never seen anything like that around here. I have hunted the area around where We live and have never seen anything like it.. Definitely something to consider getting mounted if you are into that.
