In PA. during the mid 80's a trapper caught a coyote ,on the property of a sheep farmer in Greene county just below Pittsburgh. The coyote had a tag ( PROPERTY OF THE PA.GAME COMMISION) .The news people first asked the Game Protector if they had stocked any coyotes, and he responded ," that if that was done he shure as heck would no about it. My impression was that he was asked about stocking, but was not told what the had found. The camera then went to a trapper with coyote and tag.Yes on Tv I saw the tag. They then went back to the Game Prot. and he was at a total lack for words. What this says is that the Game commission in there different divisions , Often has no idea what B.S. was already made public. They also have P.R. people that do nothing but decide what to tell the public and what not to.I don't know if the coyote was part of a stocking program , I think probably part of a study and some got away.
