Coyote bounty is back in VA

Well the state has put a 25.00 bounty on them again, as if they didnt have enough complaints last time of guys shooting out of trucks, at pets and livestock etc etc etc... The local chief came in to discuss this at our gunshop today, the thought is nothing will change except there will be more educated coyotes around here... Thoughts?

10-4 just checking. These bounties are a real pain it seems. We do not have one in my county they talked about it for a while and decided against it.The next county over however does have one.Im glad we do not have one.

I should add that I don't think they work, but it would be nice to know you could get $25 per coyote for people that hunt them regularly.

15.00 is paid by the county, 10.00 by the landowner (if you choose to take it).

I dont hunt deer and those that do, when they see one they will shoot at any opportunity... Not dogging anyone but me and my buddies hunt yotes and hunt them hard, all it takes is one deer hunter to educate several coyotes at once.

Shocker huh? lol

I collected $75 from a coyote on our bounty back in 2005 because it was there. I think it is and was a stupid waste of taxpayer money, but if they're going to whizz it away, I'll take it for gas money. Nothing good came of it as mentioned. More people blaring the bunny blues educating them, more dead german shephards, more people bringing in roadkills, more people cheating the system and trying to trap them catching tons of domestics in the meantime, more people taking night shots at any eyes they see, and the population is bigger now than ever and the bounty went broke in that county 3 times.

I'd rather see the money put into livestock funds for farmers that allow responsible predator hunting/trapping and still have predation losses. Just like I'd like to see crop damage funds go to farmers that allow responsible deer/bear hunting but still have damages.
