coyote broadside shot placement

Hakuna

Thanks for sharing your experience with the 70 grainers and also your pards experience with the 48's. Definitely different results for a variety of individuals.
I'm thinking hunter preference, hunting methods, style, velocity and even different parts of the country affect desired bullet type and prefered shot placement.

Thanks to all who posted it's been an education for me.

I'm always surprised by the amount of discussion on this topic. I started out with a 22-250. Killed just a couple with 40 Vmax. Switched to 50 NBT. It's a great combo and I still use it. I built a 6mm rem a few years ago and have used 70 NBT until this year. I love this combo. Bang-flops are the rule with any decent body hit. In close to 60 coyotes I've had 1 runner, that made it 25 yards. I tried the 6mm 55 NBT this year (don't know why) have only killed a handful of coyotes, but all have been bang-flops. I think once I shoot up this round of ammo I'll go back to the 70 NBT. No real advantage in the trajectory of the 55s.

By the way I sell fur too. Very few need significant sewing. And I have yet to see a fur buyer shy away from sewn up hides.
