I do like Cal does unless I'm far into the woods. Some of my circular calling routes are 4-6 miles long and on foot that's a fair piece to drag a coyote. That's when I learned to skin in the field. I've got plenty of trees to hoist them against, and placing the hide in a heavy duty trash bag sprayed with flea/tick killer strapped onto the backpack is the easiest way to get one out that I know of.
