yesterday i ran across a few coyote turds that were full of pieces of apple skin. from where the crap was to where apples would be laying on the ground is about 2 miles.
i broke this turd apart so the apple skin pieces might show up better.
another fairly fresh turd had a bunch of seeds in it, seeds i could not identify. i'm thinking of carrying a baggie along for 'seed turds', hoping that the county extension agent might be able to identify the seeds for me.
none of the fresh crap yesterday had any of the usual hair in them, although it appeared that rodent populations would be nearby. perhaps when apples are available coyotes prefer them to rodents. could it be that apples are easier to catch than a rodent?
