coyote howler

If you are looking for one that works good, usually comes with a lifetme warranty, and very easy on the eyes, then don't forget to check out the custom call builders forum, here on the site. The sponsors produce some great stuff. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

That being said, find yourself a howler that will work for you...not against you. If you are an aggresive call blower with alot of wind, then check out the red desert howler. Otherwise, if you are looking for something that is much easier to blow and control, shop around. I have no problem opening packages in the sporting goods stores and trying howlers out. I always get the same question; "Can I help you?" I respond, "Nope I'm doing just fine." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tony

BTW, Tony makes some great Howlers. I highly recomend them.
I have a Red Desert Howler and just got a cow horn howler from Tony about 3 weeks ago. I was really shocked at the difference in the amount of air it takes to blow the TT howler. Have called in 4 with it in the past 3 weekends.
I am sure that the other custom call makers make great calls as well, I just havent tried them yet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

I second that on tony. Just got one of his production howlers in the mail today and already love it. My mom was just yelling at me actually for blowing it in the house. It is real easy to use and sounds FANTASTIC. Way to go tony YOU DA MAN.

I'm looking into buying a coyote howler, what would some of you recommend on which one works the best?

While I wholeheartly agree with the previous posts, my curiousity begs me to ask...how much experience do you have using a howler? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
IMHO, THAT will also make a huge difference in which/who's howler to buy.

When you say "best"...well, everyone has their own opinion on that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
As far as "production" howlers...I'd recommend T.Tebbe's "Cedar River"; or his "Cyanide Sheila"; /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
or KO Solutions' "Black Coyote" or "Twister". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
As far as custom cow horn, buffalo horn, exotic horn or wood...take your pick...to name a few... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have 2 cowhorn howlers from a call maker on this site. (Death Card Calls) One is made to sound like a male coyote and the other a juvinile or female. Very beautiful and great sounding calls. You can't go wrong with any of the guys on this site. All top notch work.

My favorite howler for locating coyote early morning or at night is the Bill Austin, long range. It is really powderful and loud. It takes a lot air. I am not allowed to practice in the house. Good Luck

I like to use the fox pro fx3 coyote locator howl. turn it on and let it run twice, and they start howl and yipping back if they are in the area.
