coyote hunting around surprise AZ

I am headed to the Surprise AZ area for Christmas and was curious if anyone had some ideas where to go coyote hunting. Do I need a license? What about off road permits? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, are there alot of snakes, spiders or scorpions? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you need a license. The general hunting license will cover it. Snakes, Spiders, and Scorpions (oh my) should be sleeping this time of year so you shouldn't have to worry about them. They're over-hyped anyway. Watch enough westerns at you'd think there was a diamondback under every rock.

There is a ton of public land here. If you want to find some areas just google Arizona land status maps. One of the top searches brings up an interactive map of Arizona that gives the land conditions. State Trust is ok as long as you're hunting. I would look out towards Wickenburg (and a little beyond).

I don't offroad, but I have never heard of offroad permits.

Caveat, I may be the worst Coyote hunter ever, hence the lack of specific areas to hunt

No coyotes in Arizona. California might have some. New Mexico. We got lots of scorpions, the snakes are like 6 feet long. No offroading allowed whatsoever. Non resident licences are like 1,000 bucks. Might have some nice shooting ranges in Surprise though.

AZcayote, that's cold. If you take a Quad or such off road, you need a permit. If the vehicle weighs over 1800 lbs no permit needed. Go figure. Stay on established roads or the ranchers will talk to you in a very unfriendly manner. Hunting license required. Stay off Reservations without permission, but there is tons of land that isn't on the Res, way more than there is on.
