Coyote hunting in Oklahoma.

I'm in southwest Oklahoma and was wondering if any one has been having any luck around here? I havent been having much luck, maybe it is the weather?

I've made it down that way once since deer season...southeastern Kiowa county. Didn't have much luck, but did see tons of activity on the trail cams during deer season. They were all night shots, but it was still warm during deer season.

Will probably head down that direction in a couple weeks.

I'm thinking the weather hasn't been bad enough to really get them hunting and moving, usually I have ten to twelve by now, out of twenty or so stands I'm a little worried about this season.

Same song second Verse here as well. Its been very mild this year here as well. And we have not been doing near as good as last year. And there seems to be a lot more coyotes this year. Last year we had several inches of snow by now. Nothing this year yet for snow. Its been pretty dang cold the last two nights so maybe its going to turn around and hope the calling dose as well.

I' just west of oklahoma city about 50 miles in seminole and i've been 3 different days to about 6 stands a day and have seen 1. lol and i missed. I got so excited to see one finally. It was about 300 yds out trotting by. It looked very healthy. I just think there is still to much for them to eat. We just havent really had cold weather yet and no snow. Its getting very frustrating!!!! But i will go out every chance I get. If my wife wants to go do something and we have an hour or so, I just say thats time to go make a couple of stands before i have to get ready, I'll be back. It really helps to have a wife that will let you do that! I'm just hoping it picks up soon!

Hey Guys,, I have to assume they all went to Texas with the Missouri Yotes for the Winter... Probably guarding the border...

sorry to change the topic, but in the fall i will be attending ok state. my question is if im going to school in oklahoma and technically living there, would i have to buy an out of state permit?

The Yote hunting in the Muskogee area has been off this year.I have called in 2 Yotes since deer season closed.I normally have called in 10 to 15 by now. okwillie

okwillie we will have to get together sometime and see if we can kill a few! I have some places to hunt but i need to check and see if I can bring a buddie with me. Dont think it will be a problem at all because all the farms around me want them dead.

I hunt over in the eastern part of Oklahoma, the coyotes seem to work a lot of area over here. Unless you cover a lot of ground there may not even be any in the area you are currently calling. However they may have moved back in the next day. I don't see any real pattern to how long they are gone before they get back to a particular farm. Keep at it!

You will have to buy an out of state license until you can prove you have lived in the state for six months. I believe the out of state license goes for about $145.

Go Cowboys!!!
