Coyote ,,,,its whats for dinner

I'm really not a picky eater by any means! But,, uh-uh,,
NOT going there! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Some guy over on AR15.com nicknamed Rizzo showed pics of the preparation and posted how it tasted. He said it was nasty. My hat's off to him. I would have puked.

I have a wildlife cook book ,it has ways to cook muskrat, beaver, coon etc. Anyway he said that he has tried coyote cooked 3 different ways and it made him PUKE everytime.I ate skunk once when I was a kid but coyote is not on my list to try.

Maybe those puking guys have a weak mind or got the fur against the meat when they were cleaning it but I'm telling you that on a charcoal grill, it doesn't taste much different than beef. I bet if someone cooked some up and fed it to you, you wouldn't know any difference. Don't be an L7 wiener. Give it a try.

now thats funny, I don't care who you are.

A week ago Friday (5/16) when I shot that coyote in my underwear, I gave the carcass to a couple of Mexican guys who had been asking about getting one. They made chili-rojo and brought some in to me. I had 3 tacos today. Surprisingly, it was better than the coon they made last time. My coon BBQ was better, but their coyote-rojo was not bad. I dont think I am going to start butchering 'yotes, but I didnt have any side effects and I ate all 3 tacos. I wouldnt turn it down if I was hungry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Sorry, if they taste as bad as they smell, it's not for me. Just think how they pee on each other when you take your first bite.

Mexican food and coyotes that makes me wonder if I have ever tried coyote without my knowledge. When I used to live 6 miles from the Ariz Mex border. I would not be against trying them but they are just to hard to skin. I used to eat a lot of Jackrabbit in arizona and I swear they are the best Bunnie I have ever eaten.

Have you ever seen what elk wallow around in? I am almost always up for trying anything once, and I'd probably try coyote if it was cooked up by someone else, but I am not going to cook it myself. However, I wouldn't take into account that they pee on each other, I love elk meat and they can be really nasty on the outside.

My son when he was in about the 8-9 grade cooked up a hind leg of a Coyote that I called in and he shot.He took it to school and let some of the kids try it out,the teacher knew what was going on and told them it was wild game as in deer or something. That same day we got the coyote we got a live Rattle snake and when we got home we put it in a bucket and he took it to school also. He got extra credit for both.

The hunters killed a few grouse. Lewis killed a coyote which, with the leftover horsemeat and some crayfish, provided one more hearty meal, not knowing where the next was to be found. William Clark September 21 1805.

I have read that coyote meat was one of the few things that mountain men would pass on. Those dudes survived on very little at times and wouldn't eat them. I think I'll pass too.

I heard it from a good source that if you eat coyote, you will howl like one. There is a conspiracy by the call makers to keep that quiet because if everyone knew the truth, they would be out of business.
