Coyote or Bobcat??

Living here in Indiana I don't get much of a chance to view bobcat sign. In fact I've never seen one in the wild in this state. Having said that, I also know that there are indeed cats out there. Last winter I located this track in an area that according to the IDNR has ZERO cats. I know it's been rained on but can anyone tell if it's a coyote or a bobcat track? I felt that because the track is so deep it should still retain claw prints if it's a coyote track, but as you can see it does not. What do you experts think?

Thanks for your input.. Coyote 6974.. Have gun..Will travel

Looks like a regular old dog, but it is funny that you don't see claws. Symmetrical like a cannine, spread out like a domestic dog, but no claws. Wierd.

Not a cat track. The leading edge of the heel pad is pointed which means canine. On cats this is indented and actually has two parts. Even though the track is old and weathered, it just doesn't look like a cat track to me.

I'm a little lost here...what is ment by draw a X?

Here is a picture of a coyote track. You can easily draw an "x" across the track without touching any of the pads.

A dog track does not usually allow for a clean "x", as it will touch or cut across the pads at some point.

Cat tracks allow for a "C" to be drawn between the pad and toes.
