Coyote Skulls

Not wanting to hijack JJ's thread(nice looking skull and preservation JJ) it looks like JJ's coyote skull is blunter and wider in the face than the skulls of coyotes I kill around here. Here are a few that were hanging around the yard and they 'look' to be longer and narrower in the 'snout' section. The one toward the rear is actually the largest but the cell picture favors the one closer to the lens(which is good size also) of course. In fact that one was from the biggest coyote I ever killed and am thinking he might be a Red Wolf type. Anyway just thinking. TTT

I think I'll try that out the next time I kill one. How about explain how you did it if its a different way than the other thread. Good looking pics.

Thanks for the consideration & the kind words TTT! I read & was told by an old timer that our dogs were bigger then the ones out west because the were crossed with red wolves though the years. From the overhead view those don't seem to different! I will try to post the same view a bit later.

Yeah he was in prime condition despite only having 3 legs. As far as the skulls I don't do anything special. I generally hang them in a tree fork on the back side of my place and let nature take its course. In a few months the skulls are 'clean' enough to hang around the woodshed where the sun will bleach them a bit. If I used a dilute peroxide or clorox solution I am sure it would whiten them more. But they are nice reminders of past hunts. TTT
