Coyotes eating corn?

I posted on our local forum, but my guess is raccoons knocking down the stalks. There are a gazillion raccoons around here! That isn't to say that the coyotes aren't the blame, but they are less likely than a possum or a raccoon.

There is a guy that has coyote problems on his land. He told me that the only thing on his "deer" camera were coyotes eating his "Come Er' Deer" bait.

Hopefully Team Roper has went by to look at the tracks to resolve this mystery. Otherwise, we can put some trail cameras down there and resolve what it is. I bait my trail cameras with dry cat food. Even the deer will eat it.

Ive seen a number of domestic dogs that loved carrots if you cook them they think its a real treat. The vet suggested it for a snack or reward for our older dog, ive used them ever since.

They also will eat Watermelon, & Cantalope, my dad has them in his Garden. My dad has seen one roll his watermelon out of the garden 10 or 15 yards & then go to eating it

I agree a Coyote will eat anything to survive. Here in Texas this time of year we have Grasshoppers everywhere and the Coyotes love them. I have even seen them eat Cow dung in the Winter after Cows have been on fresh oats. Here in Texas we grow little Sweet Corn, most of it is Field corn which is very different that Sweet corn. I would believe that they would eat fresh sweet corn if nothing else was around. I still bet it is mainly Coons and hogs.

Trapping in WY I watched 2 coyotes out in a grass field or pasture, after shooting one I saw they were flipping over dry cow pies to eat the bugs underneath, yummy!

deers will knock down lots of corn and lay on it. I have never had problems with coyotes eating our corn just [beeep] deer and coons. Cats will stip sweat corn quick too. But the coyotes will eat apples that had fell from the tree and I got pics of them getting acbuzz from rotten apples.
