What would you have done differently had you known they were eating juniper berries?

IMO if you're seeing a lot of seeds and berries in their scat maybe they're having a rough time find food, so distress calls will probably have them running in mouths watering. But hey what do I know

bob_catslayer is correct. Juniper Berries are not only quick and easy pickins for a busy scavenger to fill his belly, they serve as an appetite suppressant.

We seen scat everywhere and it had juniper berries in every one. Dogs wouldnt come in to anything, we made 30 stands and not one came in to a call. The only one we got we saw wandering from a waterhole.
Couple local fellas told me they gorge on them this time of year.
There's always next year.....

We saw the same thing. EVERY pile of scat was juniper berries. We changed our calling area and got into a few coyotes, but nothing like this time last year.

We have a coyote ( or two) that is coming on to our place and getting into our grain that we feed the show cattle. His scat is full of corn and cotton seed hulls along with small amounts of hair. Kinda go's to show that they'll eat watever is easy.
