I just traded for this. Kind of wild. Mossberg 500 12 ga tactical. Someone told me the breech barrel was for shooting locks off doors and busting them down? Any truth to that? I'm not sure I'll be doing that anytime soon! LMAO! I guess if the chit hits the fan, I'll have an okay shotgun! More than likely it will just sit in the safe. What do you think?

I have looked at one of those in the shop a couple of times,don't need it,just like it,you know how it is.That is a cool stock.It looks like carbon fiber,it that what it is?
 
The muzzle is for door breaching...Sometimes part of the "He Man" classification in three gun matches where the weapons have to be a .308 rifle, a .45acp handgun, and a 12ga. pump shotgun...Place the muzzle against the hinge side of a locked door and easily remove it (the door hinge)...

I like the Carbon Fiber furniture on it..

Slugs do just fine!
 
When I was involved with the SWAT Team they used a round loaded with ceramic powder in a rubber pouch it would take out the hinges and the lock with no problem.
 
Compressed powdered shot of various materials is most often used for breaching purposes. That muzzle design is a "stand off" for breaching purposes. Shouldn't do it and it is very bad tactics but it will leave a mark when pressed firmly on a sternum or forehead... so I'm told.

No doubt it leaves marks in the shorts also when pressed to a
forehead.
 
Right on i liike it. I want one of those breecher barels fforr my 500 ssince i cut mine about 3/4" to short. Anyone know of a place to get one for a decent price?
 
My buddy and I call the end piece on those Mossbergs and Remingtons the "Gyper", when the zombie acopolypse hits, and you run out of shells, you can definately Gyp 'em down!
