Crazy things your dogs eat.....

Had a beagle eat a whole tub of butter and a big block of sharp cheese off the table in one sitting. Swelled up like a tick. I guess the butter countered the cheese effects and all passed pretty quickly the next day.

My last dog ate a beef leg bone that you buy in the pet stores. $800 later and a scar from end to end and he never got another bone. The pieces turned sideways from his stomach to the other end and they had to open everything up and remove them all the way into the intestines. It was nothing but rope chews and dog biscuits after that.
 
I almost forgot about the time while I was volunteering at the local vet's office, about 25 years ago. I had to hold the small intestines as the vet took xrays looking for all of the pins. Seems the german shepard ate one of those pin cushions that look like a tomato, must have been around 50-60 pins in his guts.
 
Brothers dog ate a treble hook loaded with sponge bait last summer. The xray looked pretty cool, cost him $1200 vet bill to have it removed from the stomach.
 
Strangest one I ever saw, was on a jobsite years ago. Customer's dog ate half a roll of fiberglass insulation. You'd think it woulda killed him, but he never missed a lick!!
 
Mr Griswold likes jalepenos raw. It turns into a test of will between him and the pepper. He will not swallow it, just hold it in his mouth till it looks like hes holding a jellyfish from the slobber. He will even growl if I try and take it from him.
 
Here it's rotten fish. Salmon. They not only like to eat it, they seem to get drunk off of it. Crazy drunk, rolling in it and walking funny.

I grew up on a farm. Any dog that stole food off the table was shot. It only happened twice.
