Criterion barrels

When I got my 308 barrel, I was totally shocked at the quality. It looked as good as any top end barrel I have ever seen, inside and out. It shot bug holes at 100 yards and waaaay under MOA at 300. I'm no internet hero so I won't tell you it shot 1/4 inch groups at 300. What I will say is you should be very happy with the CBI barrel.

First 50 rounds of necked up .243 worked perfectly, not a single piece lost...

I have a CBI 26 inch 308 barrel with the 1:10 twist that I put on a remington 700. Making it into a rem-age rifle. I am happy with it. Shot it at 100 yards in the fall to break it in and see what it was capable of. Now waiting for spring to go out and try it at some longer ranges. The pre-fit saved me a couple hundred dollars over rebarreling a blank with a gun smith. Course I did not have the action blue printed.

Can't say anything but positives about my experience with CBI. Check out Jim at Northland is great to deal with. Once you actually get ahold of him. Busy as heck right now.

You are making the wait for mine harder. I ordered mine from Jim a couple weeks ago and he said he had some barrels on order but didn't know when they would come in. I decided to order it special and have CBI do the threading. Guess I should have paid for one of the others and I could have had it by now. Although it would have collected dust for 5 months waiting on the stock.

Glad your brass turned out. My dies will be in tomorrow and just bought a shell plate from another member. Hope to have some brass ready for when the rifle comes together.

Hope it's shoots for you.

This Savage 7 mag has a 26-inch Criterion barrel on it. It shoots sub-minute all day long with 139 grain Hornadys at 3100 fps. My other load is 160 Partitions at 3006 fps and it is just as good with that load.

I would not hesitate to buy another Criterion.

My Criterion 220 swift has been on order since October. My 6BR from Criterion is an extremely fine shooting rifle. No complaints at all with these barrels.

Yeah I haven't heard a bad review yet from anyone anywhere. Only one guy complaining that it wouldn't shot the same load his other .260 shot...

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Nice looking rifle and a good group too. Mine Criterion shoots beter than the shooter most of the time.

My CBI barrel for my Savage 12 action came a couple of weeks ago. I had my gunsmith thread it for my suppressor and after I got it home it was installed and properly headspaced in a matter of minutes. After I got it dialed in it has been my only centerfire rifle that I have been taking out to the field for our local ground squirells. Fast, accurate and quiet. Oh, and deadly too. It's amazing to me that the pop of the whistlepig exploding is more loud than my gun. What fun!

In early June I hope to be wearing out a few prairie dogs with it. This will be the first time ever that I have taken guns that were quiet along with accurate and hard hitting. I am hoping for a really fun year I am.
