crow calling

I have had crows, hawks and owls 'investigate' rabbit distress calls when coyote hunting. So, I'm going to (in the near future when school allows /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif) mix some crow calls in with some rabbit distress as a confidence builder for coyote calling. I'm gonna go easy on the crow sounds not too loud or too frequent.
I mix some of my own sounds and use a homemade electronic caller.
My results have been mixed so far as I am just getting into coyote calling. And, my hunting (thus my learning) time has been very limited since March.
Stay in touch and I'll let 'ya know what happens.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck
Don

I did this a few years ago and seen no real increase or decrease in calling in a predator. I did see a HUGE increase in calling crows! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It is kind of hard to hear when you have a murder of about 30 to 40 crows over you making all kinds of noise! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Usually if I'm making the right prey distress sounds the crows will mob me anyway, so there is no need to add any artificial crow sounds to the mix.

What GC said. I've had crows come quick when I started calling. Nothing works better than just letting real crows stir things up some.
