Crow motion decoy?

I've been considering using a crow motion decoy, with my other crow decoys, as a means of drawing them in a little closer.

Have any of you used a motion crow decoy? Built one? What would a new one cost?

Thank you, Bowhunter57

Try this site. Once your there, click on "Catalog" and then "Cripple Crow". This decoy is pretty pricey but if you have a SugarMama or if Santa has a few bucks then you might be in luck. Otherwise, it might give you some good ideas on how to build one yourself.

I took a rubber boot, black, and cut it to look like a crow, almost like the cripple crow, the but a black weasel ball in the middle. I use the weasel ball for my coyote deke too. The crow deke works good with a death cry tape. and an Owl decoy w/ some crows, and the wounded deke, w/ a crow and owl fight works good too.

The new predator enticer decoy is made for killing crows! It acts just like a crow caught in a wire. With an owl decoy and distress call it's perfect.

KayBee toy stores sell a toy called a Flapping Flyer for about 4.99. Paint it black, mount on stake so that wing tips just touch the ground. Put about 2 dekes high overhead and an owl deke about 6 feet above the flapping flyer. That's all you'll need. Make sure your well camo'd and stay hidden even when shooting. Then turn on the dying crow tape. If they're around, they will come.

A lot of peole use the robo duck here in CA. They really briing in the ducks. Now that they are illegal it might be worth while picking one up cheap and painting it black to use on crows.

There are several motion crow decoys you can buy. Some are wind operated and some use batteries. The best thing to do if you want to buy one is to do a web search on "crow decoy" and browse through the differant kinds.
I built my own.

Material required:
A stake
A spring
A clip
A plastic full bodied crow decoy with a stake (not feet)
And a long string

Hook the spring to the top of the stake. Then set the decoy's stake down inside the spring. Clip the clip on to the decoy's stake a few notches down the spring. The clip should keep the decoy's stake from coming out of the spring by stiking out a bit on both sides of the spring. Then hook one end of the string to the decoy's beak. Set the decoy in a feild facing you where it is visible. Then you can pull the other end of the string to make the decoy move.

The only down side is that you can't pull the string and shoot at the same time. I wanted something quick, easy to make, and cheap. This is what I came up with. I made a stake out of an old peice of metal and I got the spring and clip off of an old lawn mower. So the decoy and string were the only thing I had to buy. It works best with a bunch of other decoys.
