Crunchy snow is not the end of the world

The snow in eastern ND has a thin crunchy layer on top. Walking into stands, you'd swear that every coyote in the county heard you coming, but sometimes they're just far enough away to not spook and just close enough to call. These are both from last night.

Nice videos. I think coyotes hear us all the time before we start calling and still come into the call. My theory is coyotes hear us but classify the noise as "white noise". Coyotes hear trucks, cows walking, people hiking around at a distance all the time that they classify as a none threat.
I still try to minimize any unnecessary noises but I think some coyotes will come into the call even if I slam the door shut and stomp the ground as I walk out to a stand.
2nd and 3rd coyotes come in on stands all the time after I shoot other coyotes. 15 years ago I assumed after I shot a coyote, the stand was over but I've had dozens of coyotes come in after I've already fired a shot or two at other coyotes.
