custom order thermal scope ?

heres a thought for some thermal company. a custom order 640 scope, skip all the bells and whistles that people dont really want.

pick a reticle, pick the color, pick white hot or black hot or just keep both but eliminate the others if you want, want video recording, chose it....etc...

just pick the basic feature that are important to you. if they can do this, it might lower the price and increase battery life ??

Yup, save battery life and improve performance as processor doesn't have to do so much stuff. LRF, only if you want it - gets rid of all the 'extra' stuff. Shutterless NUC. Basic reticals and color pallets, yes - colorized scene - nope. Connectivity - WiFi/BT - most have a computer with USB. And the Apps do so little - not worth the trouble. Pic and recording? Probably keep. SW is 'modules/packaged' not a lot of savings there. Custom order - nope, supply chain and customer service nightmare. And profit can be maxed with all bells and whistles. A lot is because we can, not because it's needed. But it is a niche market, don't expect major changes.

I agree it would be nice to be able to get a "basic" scope but as "popper" said-logistics.
I almost doubled the battery life of my gen 1 thermion by shutting off all the stuff I didn't want and running the screen brightness fairly low. It still had fairly poor life, so I always run an anker 6700 pack which gets me through a whole night of PA winters.
