Ok Guys,

I took the CVA out yesterday and did some shooting. This target was at 100 yards. Shots consisted of 90 grains of 777 with a 295 grain Powerbelt Hollow Point. No scope used as they are illegal in Nevada to hunt with. I think this is a pretty decent group for 100 yards, but I am very new to this, so I'm not real sure. The rifle only has 20 rounds down the pipe.

I'm planning on hunting with it next year. My buddy is an avid muzzleloader hunter.

Any tips or advise is greatky appreciated.

to much powder for the power belts. you should try something with a full sabot or a full bore conical like the thor or use less powder around 70-75. How do the bases look?

Thanks for the advise, Like I said, I'm real new to this and only have 20 down the pipe. I like this rifle so far, but will be a hunting rifle, so I need to get a load worked up. I have a year to do this so I am in no big hurry.

Thanks,

Ok here,

What do you reccomend as far as a powder charge? 85 Grains shot pretty good. Haven't tried full sabots yet. As far as the bases look, I have no idea what you are talking about. I am very new to muzzleloaders so consider me a retard if you wish. I will take no offense to it. I love to learn about firearms and will catch on quickly. I do know alot about centerfire arms and reloading but not muzzle stuffers.

Thank you RTLOF(TONY)

I Use 2 pellets(100 grains) in the imr white hots that is the powder manufacturers recommendation, does not matter if it is a magnum muzzleloader,I like it because it burns cleaner
