Cyclops Handheld predator light.

I have been thinking on getting one . They are pretty compact, not to expensive, red lense, And last I've read decent reviews on them. 12 volt 3.5 million c.p.

They come with a car cigarette lighter cord. Guys have been hooking them up to a battery, thus cutting the end off. What battery would you use? I appreciate the help and your opinions are greatly appreciated!!

I have this light and currently use a ub1280 battery to power it but I only use it for spotting deer. Its way to bright for any hunting applications I've seen around northeast PA and although I can't remember exactly how long I know the ub1280 does'nt power it very long. The light will drain a battery quick. I would suggest factoring a dimmer into the costs or skip the light all together. My 2 cents hope its helpful.
 
As far as brightness it will turn night into day its actually pretty impressive to see.No reason a dimmer won't work with that light. I have very little experiance with dimmers myself. The only commercially available unit that I'm aware of for a 12 volt light is the Lightforce BPS. If i get an oppurtunity I'll hook mine up to my friends BPS and see how much control it will give with the light. I've seen a few homemade jobs posted here a search for "rheostat" or "dimmer" might get ya some information. Might be a good Idea for you to ask the mods to move this thread to the Night hunting forum,I think you'll get more action over there. good luck

Too much power, you don't need all that, your battery will drain pretty quick. I sent you a pm........
