Cz 452 american?

I've been shooting a CZ 452 Lux for the last two or three years. The only 22 lr. I've owned that was more accurate was a Winchester model 52 four position target rifle.

Not only are these a beautiful little gun, but you can now get the 453 with the same single set trigger that comes on all CZ's high power rifles.

For the standard 452's There's a fella named Erick Brooks that makes accesserys just for them and his $15 buck trigger kit makes the good 452 trigger one that rivels many very expensive target triggers on the market. Mine with the addition of this kit breaks at 1.5 pounds, is still adjustable and has no creep or over travel. It's just like breaking ice.

On a good day with no wind this little gun will shoot darn near inch groups at a hundred yards. I've has several 22's over the years and this is a great gun.

Mine is the Lux model with the hogback stock and the 25 inch bbl. It wears a Weaver 2.5 to 10 classic scope in six dollar Simmons rings. You can get both a five shot, ten shot and a single shot adapter for the magazine.

This is what mine looks like.

CZ makes an excellent rimfire from my experience with three 452 .22's and HMR's. The safety is backwards from American firearms and the trigger may need a little work, but that is easily fixed with the Brooks kit.

I've heard CZ rimfires refered to as the "poor man's Anschutz" and even though I've never owned an Anschutz to compare the CZ with, the CZ is a very nice rifle for the money.

I have the HB version and it shoots really well with a load it likes and I mean really well! At 50yds from a bench it will shoot 10-shot groups better than 1/2 inch. The new 453 model with the set trigger should be really good as well.

Hi Verminator2,

The CZ452 is a great gun and good value that can deliver much better than average accuracy. Even with the cheap ammo, I can easily shoot under .50 5 shot groups at 50 Meters. I have the American, 2 Ultra Lux, and a Trainer. CZ finally realized that it should put an updated version of the Ultra-Lux in it's catalog. The people on the RimfireCentral.com forum have given it a well deserved cult status. The 28.5 in barrel is quieter and shoots quite well. Both of my Ultra-Luxs will do under .325 groups at 50 yards with better ammo. There are a few tricks that can make the CZ 452 even better. Check out the RimfireCental.com forum.

I have the CZ452 American in .22lr. Best .22 I've ever owned. The bolt was a little rough at first but after a couple hundred rounds, it slicks right up. The backwards safety takes a little getting used to. Their was a person on rimfirecentral.com a while back offering a fix to make it "American". Great gun for the money...You can't buy more for less.

I have a 452 Varmint in 22LR and a 452 American in 17HM2. They are both the best shooting rimfires I have every owned. I have been on a life long search for what I consider to be the best squirrel rifle and when I got my 17HM2, I quit looking. I have had Savages,Marlins,Rugers, and a couple of Remington 541's. None have been the equal to my CZ's. I shoot at a local rifle club in what we call "squirrel shoots". And I can tell you that CZ's win most weeks. Occasionally an Anschutz will win, but not very often. Yes the safety is backwards, and the triggers need some work, I replaced both of mine. But now that you can get the 453, that is the way I would go. Just my .22 cents worth.

I purchased a 452 Trainer after all the positive posts on Rimfirecentral. Then I bought a 452 Varmint in MachII because the first CZ is so great. I have not installed my Brook's triggers yet. I will probably buy another CZ some day. I can see how they can be addictive.

Outstanding rifle. I purchased a 452 American in .17HMR a little over a month ago and it is fantastic. I'v only been able to shoot it at 50 yards so far but it will group right around .25 with 20gr FMJ rounds and Winchester 17gr V max bullets..I'm so happy with it I'm looking to buy another one in .22mag this weekend.

I own three 452 and all of them shoot lights out. You will be happy if you get one. I have yet to run across a guy that has had any bad experience with a 452.
