What kind of bullets are you guys using in your 22 Hornets? I've tried the light jacket bullets from sierra but I'm not crazy about the soft point. Have you guys had any luck with the 35 grain V-Max as far as accuracy is concerned? How about heavier 40 and 45 grain ballistic tips from Hornady, Sierra, or Nosler? Are the jackets to tough for good performance at Hornet velocities?

I bought the same rifle in December and have loaded the 35gr. V-Max, the Sierra 40gr. HP and the Sierra 40gr. soft point. All using little gun at 13gr. with CCI small pistol primers. The V-Max shoot really good (but something about the V-Max that I dont really like, too explosive, I wanted a deeper penterating bullet) The 40gr Sierra HP's shoot LIGHTS-OUT!I reload the 85gr HP for my 243 and it shoots them LIGHTS-OUT. I really wanted to reload Nosler (which I reload for all of my other rifles, except the 243) but the OAL is too long to fit in the CZ mag. I have not shot the Sierra 40gr soft points YET, but am planning to on Saturday and see how the perform (on targets)
I will post a pick of a grey fox I took at 143yds in the end of December using the 40gr. HP's. I finally found the entrance hole (very, very tiny) and the exit was smaller than nickle. The CZ is a great rifle and a awesome shooter. I am seriously considering another one in 204.

The Sierra 40 hornet bullets worked OK in my CZ 527 hornet at 13.0 of Lil Gun with Rem 6 1/2 primers, but I sure couldn't get the heavier 45's to do much (down around 12.7 or so). The best though for me have been the 35 V-MAX's and now I'm really please also with the 34gr HP(Midway Dogtown bullets). In fact, I'm shooting these at about 1.735" where I keep the V-MAX's to max magazine length of 1.765", both at 13.2 of Lil Gun, and these things have virtually the same POI for me now. We'll see how they perform along side the V-MAX's on ground-hogs this Spring, but I'm expecting great things!
