CZ 527 .223 American or Varmint?

Glad you went with the Varmint; you can always shorten the barrel later, but it really shouldn't be too heavy or long as is. FWIW: some dealers (such as www.budsgunshop.com) are selling the Varmints (walnut) for less than the Americans now; don't know if it's a factory deal or what, but I'd be sure to ask.

I ordered the rifle from Buds... good price. The FFL I use couldn't touch the price. With all the advice I'm getting here, has me considering picking up an American as well! I'll let you know when I pick the rifle up. Thanks for all the responses.

I have 2 heavy rifles #1 Rem Police Tac. HS stock w/6.5x20 Leupold in 223 and #2 is my Winchester M 70 H/B 22-250 also with a 6.5x20 Leupold .
At my age now and with old age health issues they make great dog and gopher rifles while shooting off my shootig table...
I chose a CZ American as my "dedicated walking" Coyote rifle with a Harris Bi-pod and Leupold VX3 AO 4.5 x 14 Totally satisfied for it's use with no looking back.

I'm a new member, but old varmint hunter @ 67 years young... Very happy to read all of this great info and hang out with all of you.

I'll help bring it back to life. Lol ...I have enough heavy varmint rigs. I'd like an American and chop the barrel down for a light compact walking rig.
