CZ 527 Ultralight Camo

Anybody got one of these? Any thoughts on them? I picked up a 527 American today, loved the gun but didn't like the extended magazine, then ran across these in a catalog.

527 Ultralight Camo

Kind of curious how it compares to a Remington 7 camo gun, I'd rather have a 22-250 when it comes down to it but that CZ sure felt sweet.

Thanks

I had a CZ 527 Varmint, but haven't seen these yet. I'm sure they are great, just like everything else CZ makes. It would be nice to have one that was lighter with the shorther mag with camo to boot.

According to the web site, the walnut stock M1 is 0.4 lb lighter.

My hunting buddy just bought a black synthetic stocked CZ American .223 that is quite light. It isn't on their WEB page but it is in their catalog. The synthetic stocked rifle shoots the same loads as my walnut stocked CZ American into the same size bug hole groups.

Look out ground hogs!

IIRC, the 527 with the synthetic stock has a barrel twist of 1-9", and the Walnut stock model is 1-12".
I have both a 527 American 223, and a Rem Model 7 in 223, and both shoot equally accurately, with similar 50 grain bullet loads.
I've been thinking about calling CZ to see if they sell the short magazine and bottom metal to accommodate it as an aftermarket "fix" for us guys who prefer the flush mounted mag. Mine has the extended mag, and I would like to change it to the flush mag.

CZ doesn't sell the bottom metal, but these folks

will do a modification of the stock bottom metal that does the same thing.

CZ does sell the short magazine.

If you could only have one of those two guns, which would it be? I was leaning towards the Model 7 just because you can get it in 22-250 but there's just something about those little CZ's that screams "Buy me".

Thanks

I think cz now sells the trigger guard. you just buy it and slap it on the american and it will then accept both mags. Or have it modifed no problem
