My avatar is a photo of my father when he was young married hunter. He turns 82 in a couple of weeks and can't walk very well anymore. My oldest son and I took dad out for a scouting trip today. While he can't do calling stands or spot-n-stock hunting; he can ride around with us while we perform reconnaissance for the fall predator season.
We saw several mule deer, 2 coyotes, 1 fox, quail (by the hundreds), and lots of rabbits (cottontails & jacks). Dad brought his Colt Python along for the ride. Even though dad can't walk more than a few yards from the truck, he got in lots of shooting at those pesky rabbits. If it wasn't for the "graphic" photo rules, I'd post a picture of the big guy with a couple of his victims.
All in all, we had great time. On the ride home, dad was regaling us with stories about the number of coyotes and fox he sent to their maker as a result of the Python - this pistol has been in his collection for many/many years.
It got me to thinking about using a revolver for close-range coyote work. I've shot his Python many times over the years and it is very accurate if I do my part. Anyone using a pistol to take coyotes?
It might be interesting and challenging
