Springfield Garrison 5" all-steel. I added a Wilson Combat mag well and VZ G10 Ivory grips. The gun had a wonky extractor fresh out of the box, so a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof extractor and WC Firing Pin Stop replaced the factory parts. My son and I burned 250 rounds through it Sunday evening, trouble-free. I mostly use Wilson Combat 8-round magazines. The Garrison shot exactly to the sights with 230 gr. ammo and shot very good groups. I like the simple, clean lines of the package.

Love a good 45. I hate shopping for any handgun in a shop that has a selection of nice 1911s. I have several unfired now due to inpulse buys. I have a Rangemaster still in the box right now. I carry the Sig.

I have been swapping out the MIM parts. Other parts since my original post now include a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof slide stop, magazine release, thumb safety, sear, and disconnector. A chrome silicon 18# recoil spring from Wilson replaced the factory 16# spring. Springfield sends these guns with a titanium firing pin and an extra-power firing pin spring. Springfield frames, slides, and barrels are properly forged steel. Which is great. The gun runs like a sewing machine. I have 650 rounds of hardball through it and a little over 100 rounds of various hollowpoints down range without a hiccup.
