Damage by firing .243 Win out of .308 Win. rifle (now with pic)?

I have an OLD as dirt Cartridges of the world and in it they show some very odd cartridges just like that with two and three necks. Don't know why anyone would want one but who knows.

Now you really got you a wildcat call rcbs send them the case and have them make you a set of dies for it then get you a chamber reamer for it and let me know how it shoots.

Herter's had a cartridge much like that called the .243 Herter's Ram Magnum it had a double shoulder.

I mentioned in a previous post that I had a customer fire a 7mm Rem Express (280 Rem) in a 7mm Rem Mag. it blew apart the magazine and shattered the stock from the forend to the pistol grip. We replaced the stack and magesize and the rifle worked quite well.

I can hardly believe you would even think there is a possibality of damage. While not a good practice how could it damage your rifle? same case smaller bullet.

Years ago I fire formed a lot of 358 brass out of military match amo by simply firing it in the 358 rifle. Worked like a charm. Regards, Byron

Two years ago, I had a first time ever incident. I was working up loads for my 7 STW and 7 Mag at the same time. I fired a 7 Mag in a 7 STW.

When I went to extract the case, I noticed that the brass only had a tiny bit of neck and I was concerned. I noticed that the bullet went in the same hole as the last shot(or so I thought at the time), then I realized that I had stuffed the shorter cartridge in the 7 STW.

There were no problems at all with the gun as a result, and the case fire formed perfectly.

IDIOT!!!
