Dead Coyote Tungsten

Does any one have any experience with that Dead Coyote Tungsten? I have heard it will kill them at 100 yds. I find that hard to believe. I did buy some. Do you think I should use a turkey choke, improved cylinder, or my Pattern Master duck choke? Thanks for the help.

Use the Pattern Master, stay under 50 yards or so, and do a search on Predator Masters using the key words "Dead Coyote" for a whole bunch of info.

Do a "View all of user's posts." on me by clicking my name and goto bottom of page. Look at some of my early posts and you get all the info you want. Lots of input from others. There's some pic's of my pattern tests with different chokes but all were from a Mossberg 835. Each model gun does different. Plan on shooting some to pattern yours.

I have been shooting dead coyote and number 4 good with a turkey choke lately so don't always good by the tighter choke for biggern shot philosophy.

I just bought some Dead Coyote 3 1/2 last week, the best pattern I had was through my Undertaker turkey choke. A hunting partner slammed a yote with it two days later, works GREAT! they put the right name on that box for sure! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

i believe the best thing for you to do is pattern you gun with the ammo you use and find out for yourself what works best. a lot of people never pattern shotguns and loads. 100 yard kills with shotgun can happen, but not consistently.

br2100,

I only killed 1 coyote with Dead Coyote this past season, 30 yd shot. It just plain flanted the coyote instantly without even a quiver.

100yds, and you believe that could happen?

We've shot a few with Dead Coyote, but keep it under fifty yards or you will have Wounded Coyote. I also hunt in Northern Michigan and the yotes are big and heavily furred.

I use the 3.5 mg with single b and an improved modified choke and have had wonderful results. My only apprehension is the price. At Just under 3 bucks each Ive found that lead BB and #4 buck work just as well at about 1/4 the cost.

Shot a yote last night with this load. It was 37 steps away. This is the first one with this load. He was faceing right at me and he was dead before he hit the ground. Well with one between the eyes, one between the shoulders and one into the shoulder itself he was lucy to see the barrel flash. This was with a mod choke. I don't know how tite of a choke I would go with this hard shot. I would hate to wreck the end of my barrel. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Have not been back with the shotgun, I got one last ballistics question for you experts. If I pattern it with Dead Coyote, will it hold for 00 Buckshot, or would I need to pattern again? Thanks again for all the help.
