Decided to clean

I thought I was getting my suppressor clean, soaking it, using barrel cleaners etc.., then a day out shooting and some carbon broke loose, caused the bullet to veer off had a baffle strike, took out a good chunk of the front of my can. I sent it to the mfg, they repaired it at N/C sent it back with some carbon chunks they got out of it, recommended CLR and ultrasonic cleaner. Bought one at $65 my can will come apart, anyway put it in ultrasonic and ran it for about 20 minues with the cleaner they store had, holy smokes, much much better, had a little carbon to scratch out in the tight corners but overall, very clean. No issues since. I firmly believe you need to clean them. I was told not to use CLR on stainless steel that over time it will pit, but a full titanium can its fine. Just my experience..but I dont recommend a baffle strike...
