Decoys at night

Does anyone use decoys at night when calling coyotes? I just use my foxpro call. Wondering if a decoy might get them to really commit.

I feel the same way both for both day and night use. When it works, it typically works too well and coyotes attack the decoy. If using a shotgun great because you want them close, but not many people use a shotgun at night. I have also seen coyotes spook from the motion.

To me, I like to be able to control the coyote by the use of the sound, as the decoy adds a major unknown to the setup.

i stopped using the coyote decoy because it freaked a coyote out one time in a cow pasture we hunting. It ran into pasture breifly never could a shot the whole challenge barking.Tried everything.Funny thing we had never made a call it had just spotted it from a distance lol.

I quit using mine as I wondered about it possibly scarring one occasionaly on the dark nights and to lighten up my back pack. I think they work as I have seen them "locked on" to them but seem to be doing as well without one.
