Dedicated calling rifle

I have had some interesting moments when calling with the single shot for sure! It is a 223, shooting 60 vmax bullets at 3100 FPS.. i have yet to blood this rifle, but the end of the month it will get its chance. I only use it when I’m hunting with my buddy, so there is a back up shot so to speak. I hunt quit a bit by myself, and the 22-250 always goes on those trips.

When we hunted competitions, we had to learn to take less than standing shots. Seemed natural once you got through the mental part of it. You shoot at ducks moving, doves, Quail, etc. Many animals just never stop moving till they are right on you. Lip squeeks, little red squeekers, barking, yelling, beating on the side of the chair you are sitting on...nothing stops some of the hard chargers.

It does not take a cannon to kill a coyote on the move.

I cut my Vanguard barrel from 24" to 20" in 223 and can still get 65 gr GK Sierras to 2900 fps. Hitting at 250-300 yds won t be difficult and your 22-250 will have another 300 fps or so advantage.
