Deer decoys - What do ya think?

I like to use a decoy off and on most of the season. Had best results around the rut. Like to use it early also just to get feeding deer to move my way or just maybe make them comfortable thinking other deer are out there. Don't usually spook anything with the decoys unless deer get too close or wind them. What do you think?

I have used the doe decoy from Flambeau, I found if you position the decoy in a manner so the deer cant make eye contact with the decoy. Also, wear rubber gloves when handling and setting it up. My buddy uses a bedded doe decoy with great success.

What Mark2 said. The only thing I didn't like was hauling the decoy in. Not bad if it is a short ways or if you have a 4 wheeler.

I have killed a nice buck that challenged my Bobbin head buck decoy, his ears were laid back and he was ready to fight. But like the others say, its a pain in the azz to pack in and out.

I use Primos Scarface. Its light and goes inside a duffle bag that you can wear like a back pack. I have had the best hunting action in my life in late Oct and early Nov with the decoy. Spray it down with scent killer after you set it up and use some dominant buck urine on a scent wick near the decoy. I will not hunt without it when the pre rut and rut start.

Good Luck,
Gabe
